Ancient Art

Welcome,

I was born in Africa along the Blue Nile, where history has always felt close and alive. From an early age, I developed a deep fascination with the ancient world, especially the 18th Dynasty of ancient Egypt. Over the years, I have spent countless hours reading about its pharaohs, queens, artists, and monuments, drawn not only to the historical events but also to the remarkable artistic achievements of that era.

More than a decade ago, I moved to the United States, a journey that has taken me through New York City, Chicago, and now Nome, Alaska. No matter where life has led me, my passion for history and art has remained constant.

This blog is a space where I share my interest in ancient history, explore the beauty and meaning of ancient art, and reflect on the civilizations that continue to inspire us today. One of the figures who has always captivated me is Queen Nefertiti, whose famous bust stands as one of the greatest masterpieces of the ancient world. Through posts like these, I hope to celebrate the enduring legacy of history and the power of art to connect us across time.

Thank you for visiting, and I invite you to join me on this journey into the ancient past.

  1. That's quite a journey. Nefertiti's bust is so lifelike. I love how the artist built up the clay to depict the smile lines at the corner of her mouth as well as depicting the Sternocleidomastoid muscles in her neck. Egyptians were at the forefront of understanding anatomy, probably through the study that resulted in the burial practices and mummification.
